The Girls of Basic woods

November 29, 2021

You walk into the woods room and hear the saws being used, the smell of fresh sawdust, and see tons of students working hard.

The agriculture department varies for courses, including welding, woods, and CTE classes. It’s not very common for girls to participate in this kind of thing when there are baking and design classes they can take, at least that’s what everyone thinks. Nonetheless, 6th-hour Basic Woods started working on their final projects for the semester.
The 3 girls in this class are working hard to prove the expectations wrong and bust out a nice wood project. Senior Paige Dreckman said, “It’s fun to one-up the guys but I like to work and build new things so it’s nice to have some people that know more than I do to help.” Even though the guys can help with stuff and have more experience, that doesn’t make them better than the girls.
