Eagles fall to Hutchinson
The New Ulm girls basketball team played the Hutchinson Tigers on Tuesday night. The Eagles had a good start to the game sinking a few 3 pointers to give them the 44 to 35 lead at half time. But ended up losing 67 to 76 despite their best efforts. The Hutchinson Tigers are ranked 6th in the state for triple A and have 4 players going D2 for girls basketball. Tuesday nights game was also senior night, recognizing seniors Meleah Reinhart, Claire Dobie, Rose Dobie, Dani Hogue, Emma Bute, and Megan Hulke. Their fellow team members shared their favorite memories about the seniors. After the game we interviewed Eagles coach Dan Reinhart and asked him how he thought the game went. “I thought the first half we played very well, attacked their press, the second half we kinda ran out of gas and they started to take it to us and we didn’t hit as many shots, simple as that”. We also had a word with senior Meleah Reinhart about this Thursdays game in Fairmont. “It would be a big game to get for the conference, and we need to get it and need to come ready to play, and cant underestimate them. I also hope to see everybody at the game to support the eagles”.
