Along with getting a new High School, New Ulm gained a new health science and P.E. teacher, Ms. Olson! I asked her what made her want to teach here in New Ulm, and she said: “I had a job teaching P.E. at Riverbend here in New Ulm but I wanted to have the opportunity to teach health science as well.” I asked her for a little bit of background and she was the president of the student counsel at Michigan Lutheran Seminary School, which is a dormitory school. After that she went to college here in New Ulm at MLC where she met Mr. Olson, gym teacher at the Middle School. She got her masters degree at UW Lacrosse. I asked her what her favorite part of teaching here was and she said “building relationships with the students, and I like how everyone has to work together as a team.”
