New Cafeteria
The new school has had many new improvements from the old high school, including the new cafeteria and lunch room/commons areas. The lower commons area is a great space to talk to friends and do homework. The plus side of this is the cafeteria is right there! I interviewed Sally Reiter, the head of the kitchen, about her opinions on the brand new appliances and the new kitchen itself. She had only good things to say, “It is my palace and castle and I couldn’t be more happy with how great it is!”. There are two new people in the kitchen from Washington, Mitzi Marty and Sue Kiecker. Along with them, there are a few other new lunch ladies as well. They are Mary and JoAnn. The transition to using the new cafeteria and new appliances was fairly easy. There are also more food options this year including hot lunch, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, and the newest option, creating your own flatbread or sub sandwich. There is also an ice cream machine in the kitchen, but is not quite up and running yet. The new cafeteria has been very clean and well kept, and hopefully will last a long time.
