At NUHS some students may have been given the ability to have an open hour. Open hours are a usual class period that the students get to themselves. These people have the option of staying in school in open areas such as the commons, or they can leave the building. If students leave the building they have to be back in time for their next class. Many students take advantage of their open hours for homework, checking messages, and relaxing. “Having an open hour is a large responsibility to make sure that you are back on time,” Megan Beranek said. “It’s more like the real world which is really nice.”
