NUHS Baseball Team, Eager for Another Season

April 5, 2017

Spring is here, which means the start of baseball season is finally upon us. I had the opportunity to conduct an interview with two of the senior varsity players, Justin Hoffmann and Cole Wellmann. Both Hoffmann and Wellmann are strong contributors to the Varsity team and are ready for another season, in which they hope to be as successful as last year. Both players are continuing their talents after graduation. Wellmann is playing for the St. Cloud Tech’s Cyclones and Hoffmann is playing for Central College. Under the leadership of Varsity Head Coach Kevin Briggs, along with Chris Peters as the Assistant Varsity Coach, and Ed Tietel, the Varsity and JV Coach, the Eagles are determined to achieve a successful season. “I’m most excited to get to spend everyday with the boys”, stated Wellmann. Hoffmann predicted the season will be “very successful” and also stated “We’re hoping for a winning record and hope to get the job done.” The boys also gave me a personal insight on what they will miss most about playing baseball. “I’ll miss team bonding and getting to know the players”, stated Hoffmann. Wellmann added “I will miss playing the game I love with my best friends.” Be ready to show your support and cheer on the Eagles. Best of luck to our seniors and the rest of the baseball team this season!
