Sophomore plays with varsity

Keaton Weston is a 15-year-old sophomore playing on the New Ulm High School varsity hockey team. Keaton said he enjoys playing with varsity and that the season is going very well. Keaton is one of three sophomores on the varsity team. He said he would like to continue hockey throughout high school and college if given the opportunity for it.

On January 23, 2023, New Ulm played against Windom, winning the game 4-3. “It definitely wasn’t the best game we have played but we still pulled through and won the game,” Keaton said.

Being part of a team can be one of the best feelings.”My team is like my family, we are always there for one another,” Keaton said. Being able to rely on one another and trust is a huge part of friendship and the players of the Varsity Hockey team seem to have it down.

As of now Keaton is on the fourth line and has few chances to play a game because he is one of the youngest on the team but his goal is to move up to a better line and get more playing time to show what he is capable of.
