Gym classes at New Ulm High School, taught by the physical education teacher and strength coach Derek Lieser, learn and practice a variety of different sports in class. Since the beginning of the spring semester, they have been in the pickleball unit. “Anyone can play the sport,” Lieser said. “The game is easy and fun to learn.” Continuing these fun and easy to learn games will excite kids in school to participate in gym class and possibly develop a hobby.
