With many windy and wicked weather days here at NUHS, the American Flag in the front of the building has definitely been through it all. We interviewed our assistant principal Troy Guentzel on this topic and he had a few answers for us. We asked him how often they have to replace the flag due to it getting ripped from the winds, and he said “It’s replaced about every month or month and a half on average”. This was very shocking to us because he also stated that “each flag costs $140 to replace.”

Mr. Guentzel also thought it was pretty cool that we came in to interview him on this topic and stated “I love when students see that the flag is ripped because it shows that they pay attention to the establishment.”
