Let them eat cake!
Ms. Christian’s first-hour pastry and design class has been busy the past week perfecting their cake decorating skills as they complete their final project in the class. Each student chose their own design and made it a reality. There were many different colors and techniques used in the process leading to many different styles of cakes in the end. “This was by far the best unit in pastry and design. We could really do whatever we wanted with our cakes, choosing the colors and designs on it. Everyone had their own creative idea and they all ended up looking great,” senior Miranda Suess said. Many students agree that this was the best unit in the class because they had the freedom to make the project what they wanted. Some other units in the class included pies, scones, cheesecakes, breads, cookies, gingerbread houses, and finally cake decorating.
