Bates Motel (Review)
We are now entering the final chapter of the Bates Motel series on A&E. Bates Motel is based on the 1960 film called Psycho. In Psycho, a woman checks into a rundown motel ran by one lonely man named Norman Bates. We find out that Norman is mentally unstable and has multiple personality disorder, causing him to thinks that he is also his mother. Norman ends up watching women in the motel rooms and it leads him into the murderous world we know as, The Bates Motel. In the series, we are beginning the 5th season. The starting episodes were basically a flashback to Norman’s earlier life. In season 1, we see Norman’s dad die, and how Norman deals with the pain of moving to a new town and helping his mother with the town’s motel. In the next season, we see Norman and his mother severely killing people, and Norman’s strange relationship with his mother starts to advance. The end of season 4, a tragic death occurs that leads Norman out of his mind. The new season started last Monday. The season starts a couple months later with Norman running the motel. In the 5th season we will see more of the movie, Psycho, taking place. I believe that this TV series is a well-scripted show that leaves the viewers wondering what will happen next. Bates Motel will be airing Mondays at 7/8c on A&E.
