Ms. Brandt

With the new school came a couple of new teachers. One of whom is Ms. Brandt. This semester, Ms. Brandt is teaching Animal Science, Horticulture, and Small Gas Engines. Next semester she will teach Food, Land, and People.  Ms. Brandt previously had a teaching job at the public school in Sleepy Eye for three years. I asked her what made her want to teach in New Ulm and she responded, “I had already lived in New Ulm for the past three years, and I really started liking the town. It has that ‘small town’ feeling.” She said working in the new high school has been great, and it will be even better now that the greenhouse is up and running and the shops are more organized. I asked her what her favorite part about teaching here was so far and she said, “One of my favorite things so far has been starting the hydroponic lettuce project. In a couple of weeks, we will be able to harvest our first crop!”
