The Start of Wrestling

December 1, 2016

With winter now settling in, and fall sports all wrapped up, the winter sports are on a roll again. A few winter sports that are now in motion include hockey, wrestling, and basketball. Wrestling, which is not as closely followed by the vast majority of people as some of the other winter sports are, is one of the more physical sports. In an interview with Tanner Stark we asked him some of the following questions about wrestling.

Our first question asked what one might do to stay in shape for wrestling in the off-season. Stark’s response indicated that the general guideline was to do lots of running as well as lots of strength and conditioning. We thought it would be interesting to find out what the favorite workouts might be and so we asked Stark what his favorite thing to work on was. He replied with working on an ab routine. One of the most difficult parts of wrestling is maintaining the weight needed. We asked Stark what his technique to cut and maintain weight was, and he replied with, ” I eat 4-5 meals a day and space them out.” Our last question asked about what the hardest part of wrestling is. Stark said that the hardest part had to be gaining and improving conditioning. With that being the last question for Tanner, we let him resume his routine and bid him good luck for the season.
