Theater class
Taught by Mrs. Thursby
November 10, 2016
The main idea of our new theater class is to teach students about the background of theater and how it began; as well as to teach us about the elements of theater and the structure of drama. Our theater class is currently learning about the background of Greek Tragedy and the structure of plays. They are making scripts and masks to recreate a tragedy of their own and the class is even performing these tragedies in the new auditorium for one another. Later in the semester, the class will be going over Medieval Renaissance and Elizabethan theater background. The class will be working on the language of the Shakespearean days and the structure of a joke which was formed at this time.
Theater class is a good way to learn to open up and explore yourself. It gives you the opportunity to leave your comfort zone and join in on the many fun assignments and daily warm ups. If you would like to join along with the class or watch any of the greek performances, feel free to email Mrs. Thursby at any time!
