Cell Phone Chaos

Cell+Phone+Chaos

New week, new time for old rules to be enforced. The “new” rules are that cell phones are not allowed to be out in the hallways from 8:00 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. Students are in a bit of a panic mode as they try and figure out where they can use their phones without them being taken away. This is not a new rule; instead, it’s an old rule that had never really been harshly enforced until this week. As students relaxed over their three day weekend, teachers were back at school discussing the new cell phone policy. There are multiple reasons for the stricter following of the rules. Since the building of the new school teachers have done their best to balance giving the students freedom and following the school issued rules, but now, with just nine weeks left until summer, the school is cracking down on their own rules. Phones will not be allowed due to a few students abusing their use, cyberbullying, and to maintain consistency in punishments. There is no need to fret because students may still be able to use their phones in some classrooms for academic reasons, depending on the teacher and the class. Just do your best to follow the school rules and there is no threat of getting your phone taken away.
