On a cold snowy windy Saturday in the middle of March, you would not expect to see hundreds of people gathering already talking about spring. Well, this was the case on March 10 and 11 at the New Ulm Farm City Hub Club farm show that took place at the New Ulm Civic Center.

Throughout two days many locals and people from far and wide attended the farm show, where there were about 30 different booths, ranging from insurance, farm equipment, and youth organizations.

Blake Voges, the FFA Officer at Large, said all the booths were fun and there were many different varieties of different things to do.  One booth that stood out in the show and was a crowd favorite was the FFA booth. “It’s good to see all the familiar faces and kids enjoying our booth,” said member John Haler.

The FFA booth took up the side wall, from one side having a tractor driving course and FFA information to the other side having baby farm animals and farm safety. “I didn’t know this was a big event until I heard people talking about it in our community,”  FFA reporter Jaden Jay said.

The FFA members were eager to show off their animals and spread awareness about how important farm safety is to the public. And to hold the baby chicks and test out their farm safety skills. FFA advisor Ms. Brandt said, “It’s good to see everyone again and to see the members so happy!” FFA members flooded the civic center on Friday and Saturday and even stayed after to help other vendors clean up and make sure everyone had an enjoyable experience.
