ISD #88 Hall of Fame

January 6, 2022

When walking through the NUHS, many students notice something important on the wall in the cafeteria. Some wonder what it means and what it is, while others remain unbothered by its appearance. This important configuration is the pictures of the honorable people added to the ISD #88’s Hall of Fame.

According to Shannon Frauenholtz, the committee chair representative for ISD #88, the Hall of Fame is used to recognize the achievements of NUHS alumni. The ISD #88’s Hall of Fame website states that the Hall of Fame was created in 2011 by concerned community members that wanted a way to support and enhance the educational opportunities for students. The people selected have either had an outstanding contribution to the community or have demonstrated success in their life purpose or occupation. Frauenholtz states, “The Hall of Fame is a way for the school and the community to honor exceptional individuals who, through their example, inspire a new generation of students and staff.”

Overall, the ISD #88 wall of fame is more than just a wall of faces. The wall of fame is a way to celebrate and honor the school and its graduates. To get on the wall someone must first nominate you, then they have to talk about the nominee’s career, major, accomplishments, and or member organizations. Then how the person showed good character, integrity, and responsibility. Lastly, their contributions to their community, and any extra information. The wall is a way for the school to look back at accomplishments.

When NUHS students are asked if they think the Hall of Fame wall is important for future and current students, one student, sophomore Afton Hulke states, “I think people should learn about the past students of NUHS.” When asked if the requirements to be added to the Hall of Fame are valid, freshman, Paisley Kamrath states “I think that people need to be good students, athletes and respect our school” this is why the requirements are just right.
