The New Ulm girls hockey team finished their regular season with a 19-2-3 record, their record this year has been stunning. The lady Eagles improved a lot physically and mentally this season. They have learned to play as a team, they have also learned to enjoy the game despite the scoreboard. The eagles played New Prague on Thursday, February 9th for the first round of playoffs and came up on top with a win of 6-2. We got a chance to interview senior defense player Mackenzie Depew after the big playoff game. “To be honest, I was really nervous. My hockey career could’ve been over tonight. I knew we could win if we played our game of hockey. We came out with intensity in the first period and continued that throughout the game”. They will be heading into the next round of playoffs against Delano/Rockford on Saturday February 11th at 7:00 pm.
