The life of a pottery teacher at NUHS

October 18, 2021

Pressing down the clay extruder, cutting fresh clay out of the bag, slipping, scoring, and finally putting together your art masterpiece, this is the life of a pottery teacher.

Mackenzie Page is the new pottery and interior design teacher at NUHS. Page began her career as a student-teacher at St. Clair. She enjoys her new job and loves connecting with students and reaching into their lives. She feels like this is easier for her due to her age proximity to most students. Some of her favorite artists include Banksy and Mows who are known for their street art.

“The conversations with students are always fun … I love establishing rapport with my students,” Page said. “My favorite part of the job is the funny things students say.”
