Cars Cause Chaos

New Ulm High School has two parking lots, the one in the front of the school and one along the school which is the back parking lot. The back parking lot has caused students to be upset in the afternoons when leaving school for the day. The New Ulm Police Department has blocked one way that students have been leaving the parking lot for four years now, and they are upset because there is only one exit for all the students to go out and it gets backed up, with students having to wait up to 20 minutes if stuck behind buses. Senior Brooke Aschenrenner said, “I am in gymnastics and it is harder to get down to the gym by 3:15 for gymnastics now than it was before and that was difficult.” They have blocked off this way because it is not a designated exit, only an entrance.
