Day in the Life of a Straight A Students
There are many students who strive to get straight A’s in their high school career however few ever achieve this goal. I had the privilege of interviewing two students from Public who have achieved this goal of getting straight A’s. One of them has achieved the coveted 4.0 GPA while the other has a still impressive GPA of 3.95. Both of these students have taken multiple college classes throughout high school and even Advanced Placement classes.
The first student I had a chance to interview was Senior Tony Rosenhamer. He currently has a GPA of 4.0 and is on track to keep that GPA until graduation. He has taken two AP classes and six college classes in his high school career. Tony says that on average the time he spends on homework per night is about an hour. He found College Government his most challenging class so far because it required more studying and more effort when bigger projects were assigned. Tony believes that his grades come naturally to him but some harder classes do require him to work a little harder to earn that A. Some advice he said he would give to somebody who is striving to achieve straight A’s is, “If doing well in school doesn’t come naturally, you can get good grades by reading your textbooks and spending more time on essays and other projects.”.
Secondly I interviewed Andrew Blumhoefer. His current GPA is a 3.95 and is also on track to keep that GPA until graduation. Andrew has also taken two AP classes and six college classes while in high school. On average he spends anywhere from two to four hours on homework per night. Andrew also found that College Government was his most challenging class because of all of the reading assignments and projects assigned. Andrew believes that good grades also come naturally to him but he does have to study hard to do well. His advise to any aspiring straight A students is to work through the material until you understand it and to not be afraid to ask for help from students and teachers.
The average GPA in high school is around a 3.0 according to prepscholar.com. Also according to prepscholar.com the average for males and females is also different with the average male GPA being 2.9 and for females being a 3.1. Having said that, getting a 4.0 GPA or anything near that is quite a feat for many students to achieve and is something to be proud of. Working hard to earn all A’s in high school is nothing to push to the side as no big deal because for many high school students it is quite an achievement.
We are very proud of all students who have achieved straight A’s in their high school careers. A special congratulations to any and all seniors who will be graduating soon and have achieved this goal. We are all very excited to see what these young men and women choose to do with their lives in the future and where their good academics will take them.
