When Angels Stand Tall

April 6, 2017

With the eyes of a beautiful rainfall,
I can’t do anything but stare.
With the smile that makes angels stand tall,
I can’t do anything but care.

You said you’d never leave me.
I loved you so very much.
You said you wanted to be free.
I hated to lose your touch.

In the hospital, were you laid,
the wrinkles on your face frozen in time.
In your chest, your heartbeat fades.
Now I know the angels finally committed the crime.

I never had the chance to take that stuffed blue bear.
In the end, I know in my heart, you will always be there.
